Little Black Book Earrings

There are so many things you can do with a little black book.  Most of the things that come to my mind are list.  For example Lovers, Friends, People You Want To Punch In The Face*, Death Note, Creative Ideas.  Really the possibility's are endless.  I handmade the books out of polymer clay.  The cover is black the binding tab is white so to continue the classic color scheme the bead at the top is red.

*Note*: This is my favorite list... not because I have one stashed away in my handbag. No that would be wrong.  It's just because the notion makes me smile.

I have been going crazy adding new product to my website this year.  At last count I have added something like 106 new items. 

Funky Bracelets:  21 new this year

       Pepole Pins:   15 new this year

If you include the time to create each item, take the photo, clean the photos, and post them to the website; this includes coming up with something pithy to say and an accurate description of each item, I have spent just over 500 hours this year alone on updating and adding new product to my sight.  I'm getting tired just thinking about it.  All that being said, it needed to be done and I'm happy with the results since you my wonderful customers now have over 300 items to gaze upon and choose from. Yea!

I'm going to keep adding new product this year, but I'm going to slow it down to a more manageable pace.  So for at least 10 weeks; but hopefully for the rest of the year, I will be adding one new item each week and I'll post about it on Thursdays blog so you can easily find the new items. 

Buttons of Bemusement:  New Product line 8  new

I have been adding new product to the website like crazy this year.  Buffing up old beloved lines and adding new.  Here are some of the things I have added this past week... 

More has been added then the few listed here, but I thought I would give you an overview.

I have been asked for YEARS "do you make guy Jewelry?"  well I now I can say..."sort of".  I have been playing with resin for the past month and have decided to use this new found skill to make buttons.  Button's are great because unless I cover them in glitter and make them pink they are both guy and girl friendly.  Yea! I have something everyone can ware.   Now only a few of the buttons will make it onto my website so if you want to see the whole line you'll need to find me or Chance at a Con.

I start out with a few blanks that I have colored and warped in copper...

Then I make up some pictuers to float inside the buttons...

I put just a little resin down to keep the pictuers in place...

Then cover with a thick layer of resin...

After they dry for a day  I can add the pin backs then let them dry for several more days.  Bellow is one of the batches I have finished with some close up pictuers as well.... well mostly finished I have not added the backs yet.

I'll start adding Buttons to my website next week.  Hope you enjoy

I have been working on updating Funky Bracelets.  I have gotten rid of all the old and am adding 10 new this next week.

Here are a few of the new added...

Today  I have been working on hand-making Little Book charms out of Polymer Clay.  I typically will make around 100 charms per batch so it's an all day possess...  well in reality it's a several day possess, but 90% of it will be done today (and for those of you who read me regularly know that is a 12 - 14 hour day).  If you look very closely you can tell there are 2 sizes of book being made... Small and Really Small.

First I have to prep the clay and make the "paper" part of the books.

- Then I create the "Covers"

- On the curved side I create an indentation and a little black label for the "binding"

- Then It's put them all on Head Pins and into the oven with them

After they bake I seal them and let them dry for 3 days, witch I still need to do.  Once they are dry I twist the wire at the top to create a loop. 

Tada!  A batch of Book Charms are borne.

For the most part all the charms have marbleized covers so each one is different, this can make finding 2 close enough to be earrings a little difficult.  When they are all finished I will use them for Earrings, Funky Bracelets and Pepole Pins.

Shortly after I wrote about my personal Pinterest page I started a page just for my company.   Naturally it has a large amount of my jewelry,  but it's organized in a different fashion than on my website.   Though I don't have everything that's on my website on my Pinterest page,  a good chunk is there and I plan on putting anything new up so if you follow the whole page or just the broads your interested in so you'll know right away when something new is available.   Besides boards for jewelry I  also have boards for...

"Crafts I've Done" -  These are crafts that I have personally done.   It will have more than what I put up on my personal page since I'll add the good, the bad, and the just plain weird to this board.

"Pictures At Shows" -  As they name says it's pictuers I've taken at shows.

"Pictures" -  These are just random pictures I have taken that I am sharing with you

"15 minute Doodle" -   Because I hand draw each and every charm I am always working on new pictures to use (trace).   Most of the time I forget to save the pictures in a large enough format to pin, but the one's that I have I'll share on this board.

"Drawing With Intent" -  Just like the board "15 minute doodle", but these pictuers have taken me much longer to make.

The boards above are the first ones that I made (that where not jewelry centered),  but I'll add more.   I would like to add a board  "People Waring Us"  witch would be my fabulous customers waring their jewelry.   It's not up yet because I have not asked for permission form the folks that I do have photos from yet.   If you would like to be added to this board just send me an email with a picture of you waring some of my jewelry and I'll add you post hast (pun intended).    I'm not sure about what other other boards I will add,  but there will be more.   If there is something you would like to see drop me a line and if I'm able I'll add that board.
