I was taking a few minutes off and stumbled upon this really cute blog called Gingemelon Dolls.  They had a free pattern for some cute owl ornaments.  Below is the picture tutorial for the ornaments, but I recommend checking out the original sight since the picture resilution is better.

For the Month of November I am going to give a Hoot and embrace all things owl.

I have been for sometime wanting to make House specific owls for Harry Potter Inspired items.  After many drafts and several days worth of cramped hands I finally was able to come up with owls for 3 out of the 4 houses.  Subsequently I turned them into earrings.  The nice thing about the earrings is other than using the appropriate colored bead at the top unless you are in the know they are just cute owl earrings.

The first house that Success was found with was Hufflepuff. Wanting something small and cute and well relatively easy to draw cause I figured I would go through a lot of them it took a bit of time.  Believe it or not complicated is easier for me to draw... well the first time at least.

The Second house was Slytherin.  Wanting a Gothic feel freed me up to be as complicated as I wanted to be.  However after the first time drawing it my hand cramped up and was yelling at me for sometime so it was turned into a stamp as quickly as possible.  The nice thing about that is I can keep my prices reasonable.

The Last House is Ravenclaw.  It was the most simplistic to come up with since I tend to think about Ravenclaw as clean lined and classic.  So a picture of a real owl was found online and the silhouette was created.

Truthfully all the owls where turned into stamps because I wanted to keep the price at $12 a pair of earrings and really a lot of owls are used all over the place so there has been the embracing of as much lazy as can be gotten away with lately.

Dragons Love You... Dipped in Chocolate.

I am always running out of these earrings while at shows, and even though I have had several people ask me to add them to the website I kept on forgetting.  However I have spent the last 4 days doing nothing but making earrings and during that time I remembered "Oh Yes I have earrings I needed to make a lot of and to add to the sight".  Sometimes it takes my poor little brain time to get sorted out. 

These earrings have been a favorite for some time because they are whimsical featuring a dragon charm, but also classic enough to ware to work since they are metallic (gold-tone and pewter).

Hope you find they where worth the wait.

Fairy Tales From China

"Hua Mulan was a legendary warrior woman from the Southern & Northern Dynasties (420 - 589) of China who was originally described in a ballad"(1) and was much later turned into a the heroine of a Disney movie.  She has inspired countless plays, ballads, story's, paintings, and even a crater on Venus is named after her.  Now There is this small, but fun and whimsical bracelet inspired by this incredible woman.

The colors of the bracelet and 2 of the charms where strongly inspired by the movie, but the other 3 charms where inspired by earlier recounting of her tale.

Naturally I had to make earrings to go with the bracelet, so I took a fragment of my favorite quote and turned that into both a charm on the bracelet and earrings.

Hope you end up giggling over the earrings as much as I did when making them

Find The Mystery That's Hidden From Site

I have added several Mystery items to my website that you can only find if you type in Search the word: Mystery

Wanting to increase the number of funky bracelets to the website before the holidays, but not having the time to spend 3 hours to clean up per bracelet.  I was kind of at a loss until it hit me, Mystery items.  It's fun cause you'll never know what you will find and it save me a ton of time and you all know that I need that in my life. 

What will you find?  Well that is the fun part to this.  It could be anything... but, mostly Funky Bracelets if I am to be honest.  There will be only one of an item added to this section and once it sells I'll remove it from my site.  When I have time I'll add new items so it's best to check back on a regular basis.  If you would like to see something added to this section just drop me a line cause I always like to get suggestions.

It's A Monster Mash

We are getting ready for Halloween here and in hopes that you also want to calibrate this fun and spooky holiday the 2 new earrings this week are inspired by the classic monsters of old.  Frankenstein's Monster and the Wolf-man.

 In all fairness I should have added these earrings last year to go with the Classic Movie Monster Funky Bracelet, but I kind of ran out of time before Christmas hit.  Oh well you can enjoy them now.
