Hello there, world!

Some of you might have seen me around at a few shows over the past two ish years, but Amy and I are very happy to announce that I'll be doing more and more shows with Amy from now on!
So who am I? I'm Tig, a geek girl of all trades, and Amy's 'cousin.' It's cousin in the southern sense of the word where we're not directly related, but we're family. I met Amy through her honey bunny years ago and worked my first show with them in 2014. You'll see me around at a lot of the conventions, but I will be at craft and Christmas shows as well.
I also am running the Instagram account for Amy, so please follow us there! Our name is as clever as all ways, uniquecreationsbyamy, that way you can see neat photos like this:

Super fun, right? Those are our newest product, by the way, hair sticks! Amy and I literally just finished putting them together this morning. They'll be making their debut next weekend at Omni Expo in Orlando, so if you're in the area and want a pair, make sure that you come by and see me as I'll be the only one who has them!
Speaking of Orlando, I'm super excited as I actually get to play in the area of a show for once and will get to go to Universal Studios for the first time ever! I'll post about that on my next blog, which from now on will be every other Thursday.
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself to ya'll and say hi and I can't wait to see some of you at shows!

It's Time to unvale the first new product of the year! So with out further adieu I present the super cool earrings inspired by the anime "Howl's Moving Castle" by Studio Ghibli.

Most of the time I really over think the beads that I pare up with a charm and this time is no exception. The accent bead a the top is sapphire blue to match Howl's eyes and Sophie's Dress. Because really I think red would be just a little to much. I admit you will find a lot of earrings that have been inspired by Studio Ghibli on my website, but Miyazaki (that's the artist) is just so amazing that some day's I just can't help myself.
Here are a few other earrings that have been inspired by Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli. Though since my first anime's where by Studio Ghibli it would be fair to say that most of my art had been inspired by Miyazaki to one degree or another.

This past weekend Tig went to Roanoke, VA for Star City Anime Con. While there she met Vic Mignogna the English dub voice actor for Tamaki Suou in Ouran High School Host Club, as well as a host of other anime as well as one of my all time favorite voice actors.

snagged the photo off Vic's IMBd page
He walked into our booth and saw that a customer had just bought the Ouran High School Host Club Funky Bracelet (he had his eye on it) and signed one of the charms for the very lucky lady. Just to cool for words.

I am totally fangirlling about this right now tehe.
At the moment the bracelet is not available online, but I do have some earrings.
Check them out!

New Charm Art
I am always adding new art to my catalog of work for charms. A lot of it is nice, fun, and useful, but fairly mundane. However I have made a few recently that have had me giggling so I thought I would share them with you.
The first two are cat's with wine for the "Cat-A-Tonic" Funky Bracelet. I have for several years just been putting normal cat's and normal wine glass charms on the bracelet, but for 2016 I thought it would be amusing to have the cat's drinking.
The cat on the left is a nice socialite kitty enjoying a glass of wine at a cocktail party. The cat on the left is drowning it's sorrows at a bar and has had one to many. yes I know, I really over think these things

This next picture is of a sheep dressed up as a butler. Now you might be saying to your self "okay that's cute, but Why?" The reason for that is because I love puns. In Japanese Shitsugi = Butler and Hitsugi = Sheep, only one letter different. Hence the pun of a sheep as a butler.

The sheep/butler is caring a tray, but when I cropped out all the wasted space to save it, I cropped it a little to close and cut off the edge of the tray... oops. Not really a big deal since I only use these pictures as a guide when I hand draw a charm.
When I come up with more charms that send me into a fit of giggles I'll share them with you.

This is the last day to get 1 cent shipping
on all orders.
After today you will have to pay $2.99 flat rate for shipping.... gasp, horror! So if you have been thinking about getting a little something special for yourself then today is a great day to do it.
Oh I should mention that since today is a holiday, I am taking a day off. All orders received between today and Monday at 3pm will go out at the same time. In other words I'll be driving to my post office at 3:30pm because I live in a small town and our Post Office closes early.

Meet Sarah R. from South Carolina one of my many wonderful customers.
I have known Sarah for a few years now and like many of my customers she has become a friend, just one I don't get to see often. So when we do get to see each other hugs are exchanged and story's of the past year are told. Sarah and her husband recently took a trip to New Zealand and she was nice enough to share her story's with me while at Christmas Made in the South in Charleston, SC earlier this month. Because I am a big old geek and was totally jelly of her cool trip and all the LotR (Lord of the Rings) things she got to see in person I begged her to wright it all down so I could put it on my blog and after she was done giggling (It was fair I was spazzing out a bit) she agreed. Below is her account of a very awesome trip and some pictures she took of her adventure (and a few that I googled).
"My husband and I had a great trip, it lasted for a little over a week. We arrived first in Auckland, NZ which is a huge and beautiful city. We were able to eat at the top of the sky tower (which is like the Seattle Needle) and it was a gorgeous sight.
Then we made our way to Rotorua (Ro-toe-rue-uh) where we got to see a glow worm cave which was unbelievable. The caves were full of crystalline-like walls and we were able to go on a boat in complete darkness to see the glow worms. It was amazing.
Google Search
Then we made it to HOBBITON! They were just sets so we couldn't go into any of the hobbit holes, but it was remarkable! They grow just about all they need to 'set the scene' there in Hobbiton. Of course, Bag End was there and it was beautiful. It had a really cool fake tree on top with fake leaves that have to be pasted back on every year because they fall off.
There was even a Green Dragon Pub where they served select beers and non-alcoholic beverages and chocolate chip muffins.
After Rotorua, we flew to the south island to a town called Queenstown. It was such a quaint little town that sat on the edge of a glacial lake where the water was 99.999% pure!
Queenstown was full of little shops and lots of seafood restaurants. Whilst in Queenstown we took a safari to Glenarchy to see some natural places where the LotR/Hobbit movies were filmed. It was a great little adventure into the world of LotR, including where bits of Isenguard, Biorn's Cabin and some mountain scenes were filmed. We got to see (from a very far distance), Peter Jackson's New Zealand home. Another evening we were able to take the skyline tour up the mountain and got to go stargazing at the top of the mountain where it was an amazing night to go star gazing.
Google Search
On our last day we went parasailing (which is big for me because I don't like boats or heights, lol) and the sight was unbelievable. Queenstown is home to one of the most gorgeous mountain ranges in the world (and they've been featured in at least 6 films), called The Remarkables. They truly are remarkable.
Our geeky Hobbit/LotR trip was amazing and was definitely worth going to see in person."
